Blood Vessel Burst In Eye

Epilogue

It's been over a month since we returned. The daily reality has taken over. It's dark and cold in Paris. We are already preparing for Christmas with family. A year ago, we were in Peru between the Andes and the Amazon rainforest.

It's hard to write an epilogue, probably because it means putting an end to this adventure, turning a last page of the blog and engage fully in our new life tidy ... And yet, even if there machetes lurking in the lounge, a boomerang to hunt on the shelf, the skin of Merino in the room, plastic Buddhas above the bed, a hologram of Ganesh in the toilet, sarongs and necklaces around the door shell coats, backpacks are folded under the bed ...

But since we must take stock, let's go!

For a year, we discovered that the countries we traveled for the first time. Some have seduced, surprised or amused other few we have perhaps a little disappointed but none of us put off. We've always enjoyed discovering what others lived at the other end of the world. So no, we can not state the country that we preferred.

The trip was due to a variety of souvenirs and some great moments of wonder. For the great moments of wonder you include bulk: the summit of Cotopaxi, the grandeur of Machu-Picchu, the New Year on Lake Titicaca, the snow at the foot of Fitz Roy, the huge glaciers of Patagonia, flying Aconcagua, the fascination with Easter Island, fishing in the Marquesas, the Tuamotu diving, kayaking in Milford Sound, arriving in Sydney, the Australian bush, the lava of Rinjani, the splendours of Angkor, agitation Bangkok, the plain of Bagan, our first 8000 ... For many small memories, it would take an encyclopedia to list them: our adventurous trips on steep roads of Nepal, torn in Chile after the earthquake, isolated in Australia Destroyed in Burma, absent in the Amazon, it all piled in the middle of crowds in colorful vehicles extraordinary landscapes seen along trails, countless aperitifs before countless sunsets excited or tired by the day, the flavor an Argentine wine, dulce de leche, a assado, fish raw coconut milk, a salad of green papaya, a glutinous rice in the middle of the jungle or dhal bat in the middle Himalayas, the pleasure of a hot shower; fatigue flea free nights, mosquitoes cockroaches and other
... We loved discovering all those places that fascinated us in our sofa: the Amazon, the Andes, Polynesia, the Himalayas. We had fun counting the volcanoes of Ecuador to Chile, Easter Island in New Zealand, and throughout the islands of Indonesia. We breathed the heady air of brushing against the 6000m altitude but also surveyed depths of the Pacific. We feasted trying to approach condors, llamas, vicuna, guanaco and flamingo on the heights of the Altiplano; crocodiles, monkeys and bufeos the depths of the Amazon, sea lions, penguins and cormorants at the forefront of Patagonia, turtles, sharks, rays and dolphins in the waters of the Pacific, kangaroos and wallabies, wombats, koalas, emus, crocodiles, cassowaries and platypus across Australia; dragons Komodos; Orangutan and elephants in the jungles of Asia; and yaks of the Himalayas!
were also heard and read many stories that made us dream or think about: Myths of pre-Columbian civilizations (not just the Incas!), the South American revolutions, the settlement of the Pacific, Aboriginal legends, horror Khmer, Buddhist thought, the Burmese dictatorship, the Hindu legends, adventures the great explorers ... We put a face on the world map. Some meetings will remain outstanding: Miguel Ecuador, Amazon Gerson, Sebastian La Plata, Claude and Jacqueline Santiago, William and Vaiana Tahiti and thei Minh in Burma. But there were many others for a moment or longer, around the corner, a drink, exchanged words the fly.

And then one year is also shared, both at the end of the world ...

So for all that, yes, it was good! ... And he may need it again!
